Dear Friends and Family,

Greetings to you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

We would like to tell you a little bit about our “CarePoint” here in Mangwaneni. It is designed to be a safe place where the children in the community can come for “care”.

Mangwaneni CarePoint is located across the street from a dump. (See picture #1) The community itself has roughly 200 homes and 1800-2000 people live in the area. Of that total, many are children, some single orphans and some double orphans. It is heart breaking to see the poverty and the conditions that some of the children live in.

We are getting to know people in the community and life for them is very difficult. Many have to live off of what they find at the dump because jobs are hard to find and unemployment is very high. Others choose to live in these conditions because this is all they have ever known.

There is so much to do and the needs are so great….but our primary focus is the children: loving them, feeding them, providing medical care, teaching them basic English, teaching them the Word of God and providing them with a safe place to be during the day. (See picture #2)

Please pray for the children, that they will come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. (See picture #3)) Also, pray for their safety and that the Lord will provide for all of their needs. Please pray for us as well, that we will truly ‘be imitators of Christ” to everyone that the Lord places around us.

God Bless,
The Brennan’s

Fernando, Peggy, and Rosa

Dear Friends and Family,

Greetings to you in the name of Jesus!

Wow, how time flies! It has been a while since our last communication. We hope and pray that this finds all of you well. We have been following the news in the United States via the internet and we are reminded daily of the times that we are living in. When life appears to be a roller coaster, full of turmoil and fear for so many, we find great peace and comfort resting in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Psalm 91 says this so beautifully, “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.” If you have a few minutes, read Psalm 91 and let the Lord speak to you about the promises he has for those who trust in Him.

Now, on to new and exciting happenings in Swaziland. Some of you may remember months ago when two of the children from our Care Point, Rosa and Fernando, were placed in the custody of one of our Children’s Cup teachers, Peggy Dlamini. They are thriving under the loving care of this amazing woman of God.

The need for orphan care continues to rise at an astounding rate. As a result, Children’s Cup is continuing to look at opportunities to be Jesus’s hands and feet and to care for the many orphans in Swaziland. In the near future, Peggy Dlamini, will transition from teacher and Care Giver to full time Care Giver. Due to deaths in her immediate family, she has three children of family members living with her, plus an additional six children from the community. Caring for nine children is definitely a labor of love that requires full time attention.

Randy and I are so excited to be able to come along side Peggy and help her in her new ministry as a full time “Care Giver”. We look forward to discipling her as she raises these little ones in the ways of the Lord.

Peace and grace to all of you,

Love,
Randy, Karen and Shelly
