Dear Friends and Family,
Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! It’s hard to believe that we are celebrating 4 years in Swaziland this week! We are so thankful for God’s enabling grace in our lives. We have recently received a statistic on missionaries that goes like this: 75 % of all long term missionaries leave the foreign mission field within the first three years. (Statistics are from the Assemblies of God)

In light of this we are so thankful that the Lord’s hand is on us and that He continues to multiply grace into what He has called us to do here. Phil 2:13 says, “For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose.”
We are encouraged daily by the Lord and by the Swazi’s that we are ministering along side of, to press on into God’s good purposes for this nation. The Lord’s desire is to have the Kingdom of Heaven come to bear on the Kingdom of Swaziland.
Swaziland’s only hope is the gospel of Jesus Christ. Every day we see the realities of the following:
- Average life expectancy is 29 years old
- HIV infection rate in the general population is well over 50%
- HIV infection rate in the 25-29 year old age group is 61%
- 1 out of every 10 households is headed by a child 11 years old or younger
These bleak circumstances indicate that there is much work to be done. The darkness that is apparent over the nation causes the gospel of Jesus Christ to shine all the more brighter.
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and His glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.” Isaiah 60:1-3
The light of the gospel is being multiplied throughout Swaziland through the witness of those Swazi’s who have been transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ. These lighthouses are the CarePoints, orphan homes and churches that we have been a part of.
Please continue to pray with us that the light of the gospel will continue to grow and overtake the darkness here in Swaziland!
Update on Shelly Brennan: Taking the gospel to South Africa!
Shelly Brennan: Taking the gospel to South Africa!
Many of you know Shelly has been participating in YWAM (Youth With A Mission) off and on for nearly 1 ½ years. She is currently “on staff” at the YWAM base in Cape Town, South Africa and is being used by the Lord to make disciples. This is the second “Discipleship Training School” or DTS that she has staffed ……and she is loving it!
Please continue to keep her in your prayers, that the Lord strengthen her, and use her to make disciples in the country of South Africa.
